Cook some spaghetti (or any other pasta!), add it to a gallon-size zip lock bag (go for a heavy duty brand instead of the dollar store bags - you do NOT want this bag bursting!), along with a few tablespoons of vinegar and a few drops of food coloring. Seal the bag, and let your child smush it around to color all the pasta.
Then open the bag and let them play with the colorful pasta.
If there is a pasta shape that your child doesn't like to eat, that might be the one you should choose for this activity. This way they can play and interact with it in a low-pressure fun way.
