This week, go to the beach!
No beach near you, or it's not quite beach weather where you are? Or go to a park with a sand pit.
If neither of those is an option, then get some colorful craft sand, glue, or a jar, and make sand art, or get some kinetic sand and get your kids playing with it.
But keep the beach or sand pit in the back of your mind! Go some other time when you have the opportunity.
Sand is such a great texture for sensory activities because it can be challenging for some kids who don't like the gritty, sticky feeling of having their hands covered in sand (see the picture of my son below - he laid there for a few minutes until I came to help him because he didn't want to put his hands into the sand!).
Don't forget to use the hashtag #52weeksofsensory and tag @highchairchronicles if you post any pictures on social media!
Psst, if you happened to come across this page and are wondering what the heck this is all about: We are doing the 52 Weeks of Sensory challenge. Come join us!
