Another low-mess no-prep sensory activity that is great for busy days: dispense some shaving foam and a few drops of food coloring into a zip lock bag, seal it tight, and hand it to your kid to squish disperse the color all throughout the shaving foam.
You can combine this with the bean bag idea and add some dried beans to the zip lock bag for extra texture and sensory input.
If your child is older, you can add different colors of food coloring to one bag and teach them about mixing colors.
Just keep an eye on your kid to make sure they don't pop open the bag!
