Outdoor Treasure Hunt

This week, get outdoors with your child! Create or print a Treasure Hunt list for them, grab a large zip lock bag or a small bucket (a Halloween candy container or a beach pail will work!) and go look for all the fun things that are on the list.

 

Nature as part of sensory play

Nature has so many opportunities for sensory materials: sticks, leaves, pebbles, dirt, etc. Let your kid find each item and touch it, play with it, and collect it for their treasure bucket. 

If you have a younger toddler or a baby, then find a few of these objects on your own and let them touch, feel, explore, place the objects in a bag or bucket, remove the objects from the bag, etc. 

I recommend making your own list based on what's available around where you live, but here is one you can print of it works for your surroundings:
